Flipping cars from BCS Auction for side income?

Hey everyone, been toying with the idea of flipping cars for a side hustle. Bought a 2018 Civic from BCS Auction last month. After some basic detailing, I sold it and cleared about $1200 profit. Not a home run but decent. Anyone else doing this? Is it sustainable with BCSAuction?

Nice one Chris! Yeah I've been doing it for about a year. It's a numbers game. Some are small wins like yours, sometimes you get a real gem. The inventory at BCS Auction is pretty solid for this.

Definitely sustainable. I got a '19 RAV4 that just needed new tires and a deep clean. Made almost $2k. The process on bcsauction.com is smooth once you get the hang of it.

Congrats! I've flipped a couple. The best part is how BCS Auction handles the paperwork. I was nervous about the title transfer but it was seamless. Got the clear title delivered right with the car. Made the whole process stress-free.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! @SallySells that's great to hear about the title, that was one of my main worries.

Good job on the profit. Just watch the transport costs. I bought a truck from BCS Auction a few states over. The shipping fee ate into my margin more than I expected. Still made money, but just something to factor in. The delivery was also a day late, but they did call to let me know.

@DriveByDan that's a fair point. I always try to bid on vehicles closer to my location on bcsauction.com to keep shipping low. You can filter by location. Saves a headache.

I haven't flipped but I bought my daily driver, a Ford Escape, from them. Saved a ton compared to a dealership. Would definitely recommend BCS Auction.

It's not just cars! I flipped a Bayliner boat I won on BCSAuction last summer. Easy $3k profit. The condition report was spot on.

A friend of mine bought a Jeep from BCS Auction and asked me to check it out. It was exactly as described in their online report. Minor stuff, but nothing hidden. Seems like a legit operation.

Wow @BoatLifeBen never even thought about boats. Good tip. @DriveByDan yeah, the shipping is definitely something I need to keep an eye on. The Civic was only one state over so it was cheap.

The key is doing your homework on market values. But bcsauction is a good source. I've bought three cars and a motorcycle from them. No issues with any of the titles, which is a huge plus. The whole process, from winning the bid to getting the paperwork, was professionally handled.

I had a question about the payment process and sent an email to office@bcsauction.com. Took them about a day to get back to me, which made me a bit nervous lol. But the person who called was super helpful and walked me through everything. It was smooth after that.

@HelpfulHank yeah I've found calling is faster if you're on a deadline, but they always get back to you. Glad it worked out.

Just chiming in to say I bought an RV. Small leak in the sink faucet, which was an easy fix. Otherwise, it was a steal. The platform bcsauction.com is great for finding these kinds of deals.

@IndyInvestor you're so right about the paperwork. It's why I stick with BCS Auction instead of trying to deal with private party repo sales. Too much risk.

@CarFlipChris stick to common models like Civics, Accords, Camrys. They are easy to inspect visually from the photos on bcsauction.com and always sell fast.

My brother got a great deal on a Chevy Silverado from BCS Auction. He's not a flipper, just needed a work truck. He saved thousands.

Also, don't forget to factor in the auction fee. It's standard for any auction house. BCSAuction is very transparent about it on their website, so just add it to your max bid calculation.
